Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega were spotted on the set of the “Beetlejuice” sequel in Hertfordshire in the UK on Wednesday with People Magazine posting the photos.
20-year-old Ortega was photographed filming a wedding scene involving Ortega’s character, who was dressed as the bride in almost all white but with a dash of pink in her gown and shoes.
It’s a much more conventional dress than the red multi-tiered one Ryder wore in the original movie when she was forced to make a deal with Michael Keaton’s eponymous bio-exorcist character.
Ryder reprises her Lydia Deetz role from Tim Burton’s 1988 film who retains her signature black wardrobe and spiky bangs hairstyle from the first. Ortega is reportedly playing her daughter.
Keaton is also returning to reprise his role as the titular prankster and has previously stated he’s been having a glorious time on-set shooting the project.
Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe will also co-star as Beetlejuice’s wife and an afterlife cop, respectively, whilst Justin Theroux has an undisclosed role. Catherine O’Hara will return as Lydia’s eccentric stepmother Delia Deetz.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on September 6th 2024.
