After months of auditions and screen tests, and so many rumors, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios have officially cast their new Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane.
David Corenswet (“Hollywood,” “Pearl”) has been set to play Superman while Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) will play Lois Lane in James Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” film.
The two were among several selected to test over the span of two days in front of DC co-chairs Peter Safran and Gunn in full costume and makeup for the parts.
Each actor had closed test deals that would expire after two business weeks, meaning the decision had to be announced before a potential SAG-AFTRA strike which is looming this Saturday.
With the two roles now locked, Gunn will look to cast Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor and Clark’s friend Jimmy Olsen. Gunn is also said to be “miles and miles” way from casting the new Batman.
Gunn will direct “Superman: Legacy” from his screenplay with the film set for a worldwide release on July 11th 2025.
Accurate! (They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people). https://t.co/1FtwYIDeYj
