Carol Returns In “Walking Dead” Spin-Off

AMC

Melissa McBride is returning as Carol for AMC’s “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” spin-off series. The actress has been photographed sporting her character’s signature hairstyle, filming scenes alongside the show’s star Norman Reedus in France.

In the six-episode series, Daryl washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken yet resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home.

The upcoming show was originally announced as a Daryl and Carol-centered project but McBride opted to exit the spin-off after her eleven-year tenure in the original series – indicating she needed a break.

Those involved, including Reedus, strongly hinted that it was not the last we’ve seen of Carol – it looks like it isn’t. However, when she will appear in the series is the big question.

Production on the show began back in October last year. Whilst AMC hasn’t officially announced a second season, numerous fan sites following the social accounts of crew members indicate that the series wrapped filming its first season earlier this year, with production said to have gotten underway on a second season in April.

If true, it would suggest Carol potentially won’t show up until the second season. The pair’s deep friendship and care for each other was often cited as the emotional heart of the main series.

Also starring in the series are Clémence Poesy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and newcomer Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” launches later this year.
