Two highly anticipated follow-up projects that likely won’t hit until sometime in 2025 have scored brief shooting updates.
First up, rumors that Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II” was to begin production soon have been shot down.
World of Reel indicates that filming on the follow-up to last year’s Robert Pattinson-led Batman feature has been pushed back by four months from this November, meaning it will now begin filming around March 2024.
The report indicates no official reason for the delay was given, though the ongoing writer’s strike is likely to have had an impact as it has pushed back various productions lately.
Indeed, one such production was HBO’s “The Last of Us” which was targeting an end-of-year start. Recent comments from an HBO exec suggested production on the second season would be pushed back to early 2024.
However, one of its stars Bella Ramsey this week spoke with Vanity Fair and the outlet indicates production could begin “as soon as the end of this year”.
Ramsey also spoke briefly about what to expect: “It’s darker. It’s really a story about revenge and a continuation from the first season about the dangers of unconditional love.”
Ramsey will next film the BBC women’s prison-set dark comedy series “Time”.
