It has taken just over three years to get here, but filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” has finally officially wrapped production.

McQuarrie confirmed the news via Instagram that filming on the seventh overall ‘Mission’ film is done saying: “To the greatest crew there ever was and ever will be. Those who weren’t there will never understand. Those who were will never forget. With sincerest thanks and unfathomable gratitude, not only to you but to your families and loved ones, safe travels and a richly deserved rest. #Part2Awaits”

The action blockbuster sees star Tom Cruise and McQuarrie re-team for their third ‘Mission’ together following their success with the fifth film ‘Rogue Nation’ and sixth film ‘Fallout’. Filming on the project officially began very early in 2020 before the pandemic put a halt to filming.

It subsequently resumed and kept going with McQuarrie then jumping onto filming “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two” almost immediately after. More recently ‘Part One’ has been undergoing its final parts of post-production with video of the score being recorded showing up online.

The film is the first of a two-part story that is expected to cap off the franchise, and the subsequent eighth film, ‘Dead Reckoning Part Two,’ is slated to arrive in June 2024.

“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” is said to have cost around $290 million to make. Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff and Esai Morales star in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” which is set to arrive in theaters on July 14th.
