Teaser Trailer: “Star Wars: Ahsoka”

Lucasfilm

The Lucasfilm Showcase at Star Wars Celebration continued this morning with the announcement that the long-awaited “Star Wars: Ahsoka” series will release in August on the Disney+ service.

In addition, the show’s first poster was released along with first-look photos of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Mary Elizbeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla – both making their debut in live-action form.

Appearing on stage, series star Rosario Dawson says she’s still buzzing from her “Ahsoka” experience and says: “I’m poised and ready, because if this does well we’ll get a second season.”

They join Ivanna Sakhno as Shin, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker along with Ray Stevenson and Lars Mikkelsen.

The first trailer for the series has also just been released online and can be seen below, confirming Mon Mothma will make an appearance in the series, Ray Stevenson plays a Sith, and teasing Grand ADmiral Thrawn who is glimpsed from behind.

There’s plenty of lightsaber action and the trailer has already drawn comparisons to “Star Wars Rebels” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” albeit in live-action, fitting considering this show is all the baby of Dave Filoni.
