The first season of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” TV series became one of the most talked-about shows on television upon its airing. Now fans who have been anticipating the release of the second season are getting it with a new trailer dropping today.
The series follows a group of high school girls stranded in the wilderness after their plane crashes on the way to a soccer game.
The narrative jumps between their harrowing experience in the wilderness and their present-day lives decades later with secrets that have long been held onto.
In the second season, two months have passed since Shauna gave Jackie the cold shoulder – to disastrous results. In the face of their deepening hunger and fear, the tension among the Yellowjackets has only grown worse.
Winter is intensifying by the day, and the survivor’s psyches are deteriorating just as fast. As they confront the horrible truth of what survival entails, the real nightmare for each of them will be to figure out what they are willing to sacrifice to stay alive.
The new trailer teases the arrival of adult Lottie, played by Simone Kessell. Also joining for the second season are Lauren Ambrose as adult Van Palmer, Elijah Wood as a detective named Walter, Grace Van Patten and Lucy Taylor.
They join series regulars Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Ella Purnell, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Tawny Cypress.
