Beck & Woods In Talks For “Haunt” Sequel

“65” writer/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have confirmed that talks are underway for a sequel to their 2019 haunted house feature “Haunt”.

The “A Quiet Place” scribes penned the original film which revolves around a group of friends in Illinois who, on Halloween night, decide to visit a nearby haunted house that promises terrifying scares.

It’s so extreme, in fact, that it requires liability waivers and leaving phones at the door. It doesn’t take long for the group to realise the actors and hosts of the attractions don’t have the best intentions in mind – they’re a cult of killers using the attraction to bring in victims.

Katie Stevens, Lauryn McClain, Will Britain, Damian Maffei, Andrew Caldwell, Shazi Raja, Schuyler Helford, Chaney Morrow, Justin Marxen, and Samuel Hunt starred in the film which Eli Roth produced.

It received generally positive reviews and though it grossed just $2.4 million worldwide, it ranked as the #1 most watched movie premiere of 2019 on horror streamer Shudder.

Beck and Woods confirmed the sequel during a Reddit AMA alongside Sam Raimi on Tuesday to promote the Adam Driver-led sci-fi tale “65” which follows a pilot who crashes on a prehistoric Earth 65 million years ago. That film opens Friday

Beck and Woods also penned the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Boogeyman” which hits cinemas on June 2nd, and the currently in production prequel spin-off “A Quiet Place: Day One”.
