“Fast Forever” Aims For December Shoot

Universal Pictures

Filming on “Fast Forever,” the eleventh and final mainline entry in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, looks to be finally getting underway in December.

Appearing on Monday night at the 25th anniversary screening of the original “The Fast and the Furious” film, star/producer Vin Diesel spoke with Variety and explained the start date, which comes with a caveat:

“We start shooting in December, if I can make good on the request from the studio. I’m in a good place, though. I had to go through four sets of writers, four years of development, to get to something that I felt would be worthy of a finale. And when I read the script a couple of weeks ago, [I cried].”

That studio request is likely referring to keeping the budget under control. The film is targeting a March 17th 2028 release so a December 2026 start of shooting date is reasonable.

The update comes in the wake of comments just over two weeks ago by presumed helmer Louis Leterrier, who admitted he hadn’t read the script as yet.

All the films in the series thus far have a combined worldwide gross of $7.3 billion.
