Pierce Brosnan Joins “Extraction 3” Cast

Netflix

Acting veteran Pierce Brosnan has been announced as one of a group of five new additions to the cast of Netflix’s third “Extraction” film currently shooting in Australia.

Also joining him will be “Train to Busan” scene stealer Don Lee, “The Raid” and “Mortal Kombat” alum Joe Taslim, “28 Years Later” Samson actor Chi Lewis-Parry, and Siena Agudong who plays Sue Snell in Mike Flanagan’s upcoming “Carrie” remake.

The Don Lee casting is expected to be a crossover element as he recently finished filming a Korean-language entry in this franchise. In that spin-off, he plays a former child soldier turned mercenary named Tygo. Presumably he’ll take on the same role here.

The group join returnees Chris Hemsworth as Australian black ops mercenary Tyler Rake, alongside Idris Elba as the mysterious ‘Alcott’, and Golshifteh Farahani as Tyler’s partner Nik Khan.

Sam Hargrave is back as director, along with producers like Patrick Newall and Joe and Anthony Russo. David Weil wrote the screenplay.

The films are based on the graphic novel “Ciudad” by Ande Parks and the Russo brothers and are heavily defined by their locations.

Plot specifics of this one are under wraps, but filming is taking place across Sydney, Australia, the NSW South Coast, and parts of Europe. Shooting is expected to run through until early October.
