Heated Rivalry
The first photo has been released from the set of the second season of Crave and HBO Max’s “Heated Rivalry,” which is now in production. Breakout stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams return as Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander respectively.

Joining them will be Charlie Gillespie as Troy Barrett and Justice Smith as Harris Drover. The show is based on Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” novels, this one primarily adapts the sixth book “The Long Game”. The second will air in Spring 2027. [Source: Instagram]

Tangled
“Outlander” star Caitríona Balfe has been cast as Rapunzel’s mother in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of its animated film “Tangled”. Also hopping on board are Elliot Cowan (“Da Vinci’s Demons”) as King Frederic and Patrick and Hugo McPherson as the Stabbington twins.

They’ll join the already cast Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel and Diego Luna as new character Hawthorne. Production is currently underway at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain ahead of a March 2028 release. [Source: Disney]

Martha & Muhammad
Comedian Ramy Youssef and screen siren Sharon Stone will team up for the comedy film “Martha & Muhammad” at A24, the project marking Youssef’s directorial debut. He also wrote the script and will produce alongside Eli Bush, Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie, Christopher Storer and Tyson Bidner.

The story follows a white widowed socialite in New York who develops a relationship with a young Muslim man. Topics of class, religion, immigration and age come into play. Filming is slated to begin this Fall. [Source: THR]

Mommy’s Home
“Shazam” helmer David F. Sandberg has been set to helm the psychological thriller “Mommy’s Home” at Lionsgate. Sandberg replaces James Morosini (“I Love My Dad”) who was attached two years ago. The story follows a young dad whose family life becomes terrifyingly unhinged when his 24-year-old mom is unfrozen decades after being cryogenically preserved. [Source: The InSneider]

A Different World
Netflix has released the full trailer for “A Different World,” a new take on the late 1980s/1990s “The Cosby Show” spin-off. It follows a new generation of Hillman College students. Several original cast members also return to the fictional HBCU.

Tony winner Maleah Joi Moon plays Deborah Wayne, the youngest daughter of the original show’s central romantic characters Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert. Deborah arrives at Hillman determined to forge her own path. The new series launches on September 24th 2026.
