“Mutiny” Briefly Leaked On Prime Video?

Lionsgate

The Jason Statham-led action feature “Mutiny” hits cinemas on Friday, but Prime Video users briefly got an unexpected taste this morning.

The Verge reports that, for at least an hour (possibly two) today, the entire 95-minute title was available to stream in full on the US version of Amazon Prime Video.

The film is going theatrical with no plans for an official online release anytime soon, and the outlet indicates there is “nothing to suggest that this was released on Prime Video intentionally”.

It’s also unlikely to be a marketing stunt as the film’s production studios, Punch Palace Productions and MadRiver Pictures, are not owned by Amazon.

The outlet says the listing was “fully populated with the cast list, video thumbnail, and a blurb”. One theory over at Gizmodo is that the film’s distributor, Lionsgate, has its Lionsgate+ service available via Prime Video with the entry there on the servers.

The film opens in cinemas on Friday. Reviews so far have been mixed – sitting at just 51/100 on Metacritic
