Criterion and NEON are teaming up to bring five entries in the latter’s award-winning 2022 film slate to the Criterion Collection. All have scored critical acclaim and made many awards nominations and critics’ best lists.
The five titles set to join the collection are Alice Diop’s “Saint Omer,” Laura Poitras’ “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” Ruben Östlund’s “Triangle of Sadness,” Brett Morgen’s “Moonage Daydream,” and Céline Sciamma’s “Petite Maman”.
‘Triangle’ won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, ‘Omer’ won the coveted Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize in Venice, ‘Bloodshed’ and ‘Moonage’ are tipped to be frontrunners for Best Documentary Feature at the upcoming Oscars, and ‘Maman’ made several critics lists.
Other NEON titles released last year that didn’t make the cut were “Fire of Love,” “Crimes of the Future,” “Pleasure,” “A Chiara” and “Broker”. NEON is next releasing “Infinity Pool” on January 27th.
The news extends the relationship NEON and Criterion have had success with together in the past, the famed label handling the disc releases of NEON titles like “Parasite,” “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” and “The Worst Person in the World”.
