With “Better Call Saul” coming to an end, series co-creator Vince Gilligan is ready to move on from projects set in the “Breaking Bad” universe.
According to Deadline, Gilligan is already lining up his next drama series which Sony Pictures TV will produce and is said to harken back to Gilligan’s tenure on “The X-Files”.
All that’s known is the series will be a “blended, grounded genre drama” that will explore the human condition in “an unexpected, surprising way” and draws a comparison to “The Twilight Zone” as it’s “thought-provoking” without being a “morality tale”.
There’s also an overreaching story arc envisioned to play over a couple of seasons. The pitch is expected to arrive in the next couple of weeks, with nearly ten networks and streaming platforms lining up to hear it.
