Timed to exactly one year out from today, Universal Pictures has released the first poster for Christopher Nolan’s next directorial effort “Oppenheimer” arriving only in cinemas July 21st 2023.
In addition, Nolan will team up with VFX studio DNEG on the movie, their eighth collaboration. Andrew Jackson (“Tenet,” “Mad Max: Fury Road”) will serve as production visual effects supervisor.
Nolan’s story is based on Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography “American Prometheus” with both authors credited as writers along with Nolan himself.
Cillian Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American physicist who was dubbed the ‘father of the atomic bomb’. The $100 million budgeted film boasts a stacked cast including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, Kenneth Branagh, Jason Clarke, Alex Wolff, Casey Affleck and Gary Oldman among many others.
