Sony Pictures and Mandalay Pictures are reportedly developing the sci-fi movie “Omega” and have attached last year’s “Mortal Kombat” reboot director Simon McQuoid to helm.
Set in rural Texas, the story will follow a downtrodden young woman who helps a mysterious stranger and ends up saddled with a reality-warping power that thrusts her into a dark underworld with ancient origins.
As she finds herself hunted by a cabal of hitmen she must try to master her burgeoning skills and discover who she really is. U.S. writer and presenter Blair Butler (“The Bride,” “Hellstrom”) is working on the script while Jason Michael Berman is producing
