“Top Gun: Maverick” and “Scream Queens” star Glenn Powell is re-teaming with his “Everybody Wants Some” and “Apollo 10 1/2” director Richard Linklater for the action comedy “Hitman”.
Powell and Linklater co-wrote the script for the film in which the actor will play a Houston cop who has been working undercover as the most in-demand hitman for hire in the city.
One day he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman trying to escape an abusive boyfriend. Adria Arjona (“Morbius,” “Pacific Rim: Uprising”) will play the woman.
She will be seen in the upcoming “Star Wars: Andor” series while Powell will be seen later this year alongside Jonathan Majors in the Korean War action-drama “Devotion”.
Linklater directs and filming is slated to begin this October.
