Four of the key new cast members whose characters survived this year’s fifth “Scream” feature are set to return for the upcoming sixth entry at Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures.
Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega will reprise their roles of sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter respectively. Also back are the Meeks-Martin siblings – Jasmin Savoy Brown as the film geek Mindy and Mason Gooding as the jock Chad.
In the new film, the survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. Courteney Cox has previously confirmed she’s returning as Gale Weathers, but Neve Campbell revealed to ET Online last week she doesn’t know if she is coming back for the next film as yet.
Filming is tipped to begin as early as next month in Canada. The core team behind the last film, including writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick along with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, are all returning.
The next “Scream” is targeting a March 31st 2023 release.
