Lock up your bunnies as Lizzy Caplan has been cast in the upcoming “Fatal Attraction” TV series which has been officially ordered for the Paramount+ service.
Michael Douglas starred in the original 1987 Adrian Lynne-directed film as Dan, a married lawyer who has a one-night stand with Alex (Glenn Close) while his wife (Anne Archer) is out of town.
Alex becomes dangerously obsessed with Dan after their fling and starts acting out, including the famous scene where she boils the pet rabbit of their daughter.
Caplan will take on the Alex role in a new interpretation that plans to unfold “through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.” The aim is to avoid an oversimplified male gaze take and offer a more nuanced and complex interpretation.
Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John,” “Bates Motel”) will serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Kevin J. Hynes will executive produce.
