A final trailer is out for “Train to Busan” director Yeon Sang-ho’s new South Korean Netflix series “Hellbound,” an adaptation of “The Hell” digital comic he co-wrote with Choi Kyu-seok.
In the series, supernatural ‘angels’ begin appearing on Earth and convict people to hell. With their appearance, a mysterious religious sect known as the New Truth Church rises to power claiming the angels are the will of the divine.
Investigating the phenomenon are three quite different investigators – police detective Jin Kyung-hoon (Yang Ik-june), broadcast journalist Bae Young-jae (Park Jeong-min) and lawyer Min Hey-jin (Kim Hyun-joo).
“Burning” breakout Yoo Ah-in leads the cast as the New Truth Church’s charismatic leader. The series is the streamer’s first big South Korean series in the wake of the global smash “Squid Game” from the same market. It will hit the service on November 19th.
