Disney has launched the next salvo in the Scarlet Johansson salary lawsuit topic according to filings which were sent in near midnight on Friday evening in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to THR, Disney has demanded that Scarlett Johansson’s suit over her “Black Widow” pay be moved to arbitration. The company has also revealed that on August 10th, it initiated arbitration against her.
But it’s the facts and figures they also announced in paperwork that’s going to really draw attention. According to the trade, Disney claims that put “Black Widow” on more than 9,000 screens in the U.S – satisfying its obligation.
In addition, it says as of August 15th, “Black Widow” has grossed more than $367 million in worldwide box-office receipts and made more than $125 million in streaming and download retail receipts.
Whether a judge or arbitrator helps sort out this, “Black Widow” is now out on PVOD platforms.
