Fans have been having (relatively) friendly debates about Hulu’s animated series “Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.” and how it is connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, producer Jordan Blum was asked about the show’s continuity and he goes on to say the series very much exists in its own universe – comparing it to HBO Max’s acclaimed “Harley Quinn” animated series:
“Yeah, we’re our own universe. I think like, you know, Harley Quinn is a good example of like, that’s not the movies, but it’s really cool actually.
Marvel has like a database of all the universes in the multiverse, and there’s a guy who runs it, and they let me pick the numbering of our universe. My son’s birthday, 12/26, is our universe, so we were in the Marvel Multiverse, which is awesome.”
“Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.” marks the last Marvel TV production to be made with all the others cancelled. Marvel Studios is now running the Disney+ TV series which all take place within the MCU.
The stop-motion animated “M.O.D.O.K.” series will feature a voice cast will be led by Patton Oswalt, Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz, Melissa Fumero, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Beck Bennett, Jon Daly and Sam Richardson.
The entire first season will be released at once on Hulu on May 21st.
