Hulu is reportedly developing a TV adaptation of “The Handmaid’s Tale” author Margaret Atwood’s “Maddaddam” which is setup at Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content.
“Assassin’s Creed” film writer and “The Little Drummer Girl” mini-series lead writer and showrunner Michael Lesslie, who has dropped out of Peacock’s “Battlestar Galactica” reboot which Sam Esmail is executive producing, will instead write the pilot script and executive produce this.
“Maddaddam” is described as an apocalyptic thriller about genetic reinvention, a malicious bioengineered pandemic, corporate domination and young love. It is also the title for the closer of Atwood’s trilogy of novels first published in 2003.
