This year’s Oscars ceremony on April 25th will reportedly not have a single host.
instead, Deadline reports that the plan is for high profile presenters to deal out the awards on a rotating basis.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the show’s producers Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh have reportedly made offers to talent they hope will come in to present.
The majority of the show is expected to be held at Union Station, the downtown Los Angeles railway venue cavernous enough to socially distance the nominees and their families.
The Dolby in Hollywood will also be involved, though most likely only for performances such as the Best Song nominees.
The Oscars will also not have a virtual element, so no Zoom calls or sweatshirts. Instead, the plan is to treat the event akin to a currently active movie set with on-site COVID safety teams and testing protocols.
