Dan Trachtenberg To Helm Fifth “Predator”

“10 Cloverfield Lane” and “The Boys” director Dan Trachtenberg is in talks to helm the fifth installment in the “Predator” franchise at 20th Century Studios.

Patrick Aison is behind the script for the fifth movie with the plot is being kept under wraps aside from the fact it won’t tie into any of the recent sequels.

The “Predator” series has had a rocky road. The 1987 original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger remains an iconic classic of the genre. It’s Danny Glover-led sequel was widely dismissed at the time but has held up better with time.

Robert Rodriguez’s “Predators” in 2010 received mixed reviews, Shane Black’s “The Predator” in 2018 was widely panned, and the less said about both “Alien vs. Predator” films the better. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox and the box-office failure of “The Predator,” it was thought the series would be put on ice for many years if not permanently.
