Sebastian Stan will star opposite “Normal People” star Daisy Edgar-Jones in Mimi Cave’s social thriller”Fresh”. Plot specifics are under wraps but Adam McKay and Kevin Messick will produce while the script has been written by Lauryn Kahn. No production scheduled has been set. [Source: Deadline]
Revolver
Ethan Hawke and daughter Maya Hawke will both star in the romantic coming-of-age comedy “Revolver”. Set in 1966, Maya Hawke will play Jane, a teen resident of Anchorage. When the impossible happens – a flight to Japan carrying The Beatles is forced to make an unexpected stop – all hell breaks loose as the unsuspecting residents are consumed by Beatlemania.
Jane devises a plan to lose her virginity to George Harrison, discovering that adventure (and romance) are actually a little closer to home than she thought. Andrew Stanton (“Finding Dory”) will direct from a script by Kate Trefry (“Stranger Things”). Stranger Things. [Source: Variety]
Walker
Odette Annable (“Supergirl,” “Cloverfield”) will join “Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki in “Walker,” the “Walker, Texas Ranger” reboot at The CW. Padalecki plays the widower and father of two who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years.
Annable will recur as Geri, a bartender at the local bar called the Side Step who is an old friend of both Walker and his late wife Emily (Genevieve Padalecki). They haven’t seen each other since Emily’s funeral. [Source: EW]
The Boys
Claudia Doumit and Colby Minifie have been upgraded to series regulars in the third season of Amazon Prime’s “The Boys”. Doumit was introduced in the second season as Victoria Neuman, a congresswoman harboring a dark secret. Minifie has been with the show since day one as Ashley Barrett, the highly-stressed Senior VP of Hero Management for Vought. Filming on the next season is expected to begin in early 2021. Untitled Anne Boleyn Project
Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen and Slim”) will play Tudor Queen Anne Boleyn in a three-part psychological thriller mini-series for Sony Pictures Television and UK’s Channel 5. The story deals with Boleyn’s struggle to survive to secure a future for her daughter and to challenge the powerful patriarchy closing in around her.
The currently untitled project also stars Amanda Burton, Paapa Essiedu, Thalissa Teixeira, Barry Ward and Jamael Westman. Eve Hedderwick Turner penned the script while Lynsey Miller will direct, while Dan Jones will serve as executive producer. [Source: THR]
