Fisher Responds To Warners’ “League” Comment

The investigation into misconduct on the reshoots of “Justice League” has take a bit of a dark turn.

It began when actor Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the film, sent a tweet on July 1st alleging director Joss Whedon’s “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” conduct on set. He added that Whedon was “enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg”.

Then two weeks ago came word that WarnerMedia had launched an investigation into the production.

Things took another turn yesterday when Fisher sent out a tweet accusing current DC Films President Walter Hamada of attempting to “throw Joss Whedon and Jon Berg under the bus in hopes that I would relent on Geoff Johns” during a phone call he received.

Warner Bros. Pictures quickly issued a statement claiming that not only were Fisher’s claims about Hamada untrue, but Fisher had declined every attempt by investigators to meet with him. The studio added Warners: “remains committed to investigating any specific and credible allegation of misconduct, which thus far Mr. Fisher has failed to provide.”

Fisher fired back today, calling out Warners in a tweet for their “desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power” and posting a screenshot on Twitter of an email he sent to his team and SAG-AFTRA shortly after meeting with the third-party investigator via Zoom on August 26th.

The e-mail says: “Just got off the line with the investigator. Had to end the interview early before going into detail with him. He also had another person of the line as a witness which we weren’t made aware of. I told him I needed to have a rep on the line as security for myself. He tried to keep me on the line, but I told him I would need to consult my team before proceeding.”

Fisher adds that Warners: “has escalated this to an entirely different level, but I’m ready to meet the challenge.”
