CBS & History Swing The Axe On Several Shows

CBS announced Wednesday that it is renewing much of its current scripted and unscripted fare for the 2020-2021 season, though four shows are being given the chop. “Man With a Plan” has been cancelled after four seasons, while “Carol’s Second Act,” “Broke” and “Tommy” have all been axed after just one each.

This comes as the network has renewed the following shows for another season: “48 Hours,” “60 Minutes,” “All Rise,” “The Amazing Race,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bob Hearts Abishola,” “Bull,” “Evil,” “FBI,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “MacGyver,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Mom,” “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “The Neighborhood,” “SWAT,” “SEAL Team,” “Survivor,” “Undercover Boss,” “The Unicorn,” “Young Sheldon”.

Interesting the leads and some supporting cast of all three “NCIS” seasons scored new deals to return after their contracts were set to finish up at the end of this season.

The Eye isn’t the only one swinging the axe today. History has cancelled both the Aidan Gillen-fronted drama “Project Blue Book” and the Tom Cullen-led medieval drama “Knightfall” after two seasons of each. Both shows have already wrapped their sophomore runs with the network opting not to renew either.
