Michael Bay and his Bay Films banner have signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures for both film and television.
The deal will include Bay’s next directorial effort, the action thriller feature “Black Five” which is based on his original idea. Story details are being kept under wraps though it is said to center on an elite military team.
Ehren Kruger, who previously worked with Bay on the second through fourth “Transformers,” is writing the screenplay. Bay most recently directed “Six Underground” for Netflix and previously worked with Sony on the “Bad Boys” franchise.
Bay’s TV efforts include “Jack Ryan,” “The Purge,” and cancelled series such as “The Last Ship” and “Black Sails” which both ran for five seasons.
