Netflix has renewed one and cancelled two of its TV series adaptations of IDW Comics titles.
First up, a renewal order has been handed out for a second season of the adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s “Locke and Key” comic series. Co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill had been prepping another season long before the first debuted last month.
That series took a decade to make it to the screen with multiple iterations being developed and scrapped along the way. Those involved reportedly have a multiple-season plan in mind.
The news isn’t so good for “V-Wars” and “October Faction”. The genre shows launched December 5th and January 23rd respectively to terrible reviews and little fanfare. The pair become the latest one-and-done dramas at the streamer following the failures of “Messiah,” “AJ and the Queen,” “Spinning Out,” “Soundtrack” and “Daybreak” among others.
