It’s official, the Cannes Film Festival will no longer take place during the scheduled dates of May 12th-23rd this year.
Organizers say they are considering several options, including postponing until the end of June through to the beginning of July.
The festival’s management says in a statement: “As soon as the development of the French and international health situation will allow us to assess the real possibility, we will make our decision known.”
France this week laid out new government restrictions to combat the coronavirus outbreak including banning public gatherings of more than 100 people, and preventing non-EU nationals from entering.
