Amazon has handed out a green light for eight episodes of the Canadian sketch-comedy series “The Kids in the Hall,” reuniting the five members of the famed series which ran from 1988-95.
Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson are all returning alongside executive producer Lorne Michaels for a continuation of the show.
The new series will also be the first Canadian original series for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform. Past episodes of the series are available for purchase on Amazon but aren’t currently included on Prime Video.
A premiere date hasn’t been set, but the project joins other high-profile series in the works for Amazon including “The Lord of the Rings,” “Outer Range,” “Frank of Ireland,” “Daisy Jones and the Six,” “A League of their Own” and “Jack Reacher”.
