Spiral: From the Book of Saw
The Motion Picture Association of America has handed out an R-rating for the upcoming “Spiral: From the Book of Saw” starring Chris Rock, continuing the tradition of every film in the franchise having this rating. The reasoning given is for “sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, pervasive language, some sexual references and brief drug use”. “Spiral” hits cinemas May 15th. [Source: Movieweb]
The Matrix 4
“Spartacus” and “Into the Badlands” actress Ellen Hollman has joined the cast of the currently shooting “The Matrix 4” in an unspecified role. Lana Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, and will direct the film as well.
The cast includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Toby Onwumere, Brian J. Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and potentially Lambert Wilson. The film is scheduled for a May 21st 2021 release. [Source: The Wrap]

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star Rachel Brosnahan has signed on to co-star in the sci-fi comedy “Distant” alongside Anthony Ramos (“In the Heights”). Spenser Cohen (“Extinction”) pens while Will Speck and Josh Gordon (“Blades of Glory”) direct the film.
The story follows an asteroid miner who crash lands on an alien planet and must contend with the challenges of the environment and make his way across the dangerous terrain to find the only other survivor, a woman trapped in her escape pod. [Source: Deadline]

Quibi has started ramping up its promotion with a new trailer for all the new shows coming to the mobile streaming service offering ‘bite-sized’ episodes of 8-10 minutes in length and launching April 6th. Amongst the series seen are the Kiefer Sutherland-led “The Fugitive” remake, the Dane DeHaan and Maika Monroe horror thriller “The Stranger,” the Sophie Turner survival tale “Survive,” the Will Forte and Katilin Olsen comedy “Flipped,” and the Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz-led thriller “Most Dangerous Game”.
