“Veep” and “Arrested Development” alum Tony Hale has scored two roles in Hulu’s adventure drama series “The Mysterious Benedict Society” for Sonar Entertainment, 20th Century Fox TV and Fanfare.
The story follows four gifted orphans who are recruited by an eccentric, benefactor to go on a secret mission. Placed undercover at a boarding school known as The Institute, they must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications, while creating a new sort of family along the way.
Hale will be playing both Mr. Benedict himself and his twin brother Mr. Curtain. The series is based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s 2007 coming-of-age adventure novel series with Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (“Ride Along”) penning the script.
The series will be executive produced by Manfredi, Hay, Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, James Bobin, Jamie Tarses and Karen Kehela Sherwood. Slavkin and Swimmer are also set as showrunners while Bobin will direct the pilot.
