Both Jude Law and actor/filmmaker Taika Waititi are in talks for “The Auteur,” a Showtime limited series in the works which sounds like an update on “The Player”.
Law would executive produce and play the eccentric title character in the Hollywood satire which has no start date at present, while Waititi is attached to executive produce, co-write and direct at least one episode. Peter Warren will also co-write.
Law is set to begin work on the third “Fantastic Beasts” film and HBO’s “The Third Day” soon while Waititi is in post-production on “Next Goal Wins” and prep on “Thor: Love and Thunder” so it’ll be a while before either is potentially free.
