While Daniel Craig’s filming on “Spectre” may not have been a pleasant experience, it seems his fifth and final outing as James Bond has been an enjoyable one.
The Daily Mail reports that Daniel Craig and the cast and crew of “No Time To Die” recently celebrated the end of filming at a restaurant in Matera with a party that got a big sloshy.
The actor addressed the group with a sincere speech thanking everyone and video of his speech next to a giant 007 cake has been released on the website. In the clip he says:
“I just want to say, and I am really quite drunk now so I won’t go on for long, this has been one of the best, most wonderful experiences I have ever had. You have all done the most amazing job. I could not be more proud to work with every single one of you on this production. I would like to thank you for this evening, for Barbara [Broccoli], for putting it on. Thank goodness, we did this tonight.”
The Cary Fukunaga-directed film famously seemed curse heading into production with cast & crew changes, multiple delays and then incidents with injury, an explosive accident, and even a peeping tom. That said, the shoot itself has seemingly gone fairly smoothly and is on track for its release in April next year.
In addition, Metro reports that Emmy-winning “Fleabag” writer/star Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s contribution to the script was “great, far greater than we’d anticipated… she was across the entire script” according to their source who proclaims her “the saviour of Bond” and likely to be invited back for future entries.
The new film sees Bond having left active service and retired in Jamaica when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) shows up to ask for help in the case of a kidnapped scientist which puts Bond on the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and Rami Malek co-star in the film.
