VOTD: Carpenter Directs A “Christine” Music Video

For the first time in seven years, filmmaker John Carpenter has gotten behind the camera for a new music video inspired by his 1983 film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Christine”.

The video is to celebrate Sacred Bones Records’ release next month of “Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998,” an album of Carpenter famed musical score work and one he will tour with later that month for a few select US dates – notably October 29th in Las Vegas and Halloween in Los Angeles.

The video reimagines the film about the possessed 1958 Plymouth Fury. Here it’s shown driving around a city late at night and seemingly chasing down a young woman. When it finally corners her, the director himself makes an appearance in the video.

You can pre-order the album here.
