Director Michael Bay has confirmed that John Turturro and John Goodman are both set to return to the “Transformers” franchise, albeit their first time in the same film, which makes the upcoming fifth film “Transformers: The Last Knight” a reunion of sorts for the two “The Big Lebowski” cast members.
Turturro played Agent Simmons in the first three films, Goodman voiced Hound in the fourth, and now both characters will be back alongside other returnees like Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and Stanley Tucci.
Bay made the announcement during a Facebook Live video to mark the last day of shooting in the United Kingdom, video which showed extras dressed in medieval garb. The production is now headed to Namibia for several days of shooting and Bay promises we’ll see the first trailer for it before the year’s out: “We’re gonna have a teaser coming out, not sure if it’s gonna be November or December.”
Newcomers for this outing include Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Gil Birmingham, Liam Garrigan, and Santiago Cabrera. “Transformers: The Last Knight” opens June 23rd 2017.
