The CW’s long-running drama “Supernatural” heads into a twelfth season this Fall and, speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday, network president Mark Pedowitz says there’s no sign of the show slowing down:
“Jared [Padalecki] and Jensen [Ackles] seem very happy. I’m thrilled with the creative direction of the show If the ratings hold, the show could outlast my tenure in this chair [as network head]…”
The next season will be helmed by new co-showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer, while Rick Springfield joins the cast as Lucifer’s new vessel along with Samantha Smith as Sam and Dean’s mother Mary.
As for the possibility of a spin-off, Pedowitz says “it’s still a priority” but it’s up to Warner Bros. Television to decide when they want to do it. “Supernatural” returns to The CW on October 13th.
