It’s official, “John Wick” co-director David Leitch will direct the upcoming “Deadpool” sequel at 20th Century Fox.
Heat Vision reports that Leitch has closed his deal for the gig several weeks after originally slated helmer Tim Miller dropped out as the director. Miller exited the project over “creative differences” with star Ryan Reynolds.
Leitch’s name surfaced days after Miller’s exit, though other potentials such as Rupert Sanders, Drew Goddard and Magnus Martens emerged. Leitch met with Reynolds in New York and was offered the gig soon after.
Production is slated to begin early next year for a 2018 release.
