Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s adventure tale “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” opened with $151.1 million in 48 international markets over the weekend, the top film in all 48 territories it debuted in.
Korea had the biggest debut with $27.2 million, followed by the United Kingdom and Ireland ($19.9M) and France ($10M). The film releases in twenty-one more territories over the next two months with China getting it this coming week, the United States and Australia the week after that, and Japan on July 13th.
The news comes as “Ocean’s 8” also had a solid start overseas with $12.2 million in sixteen international markets, while “Solo” continues to dwindle and now sits at $312.2 million with the chances of it going much beyond $400 million looking very slim.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is currently tracking a domestic debut of around $140-150 million when it opens on June 22nd.
