We know that Mark Hamill is coming back one last time to play Luke Skywalker in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” this December.
Whilst speaking to the press at the “Child’s Play” premiere this week, Hamill discussed his return and seemingly confirms how he’ll do it after his character’s death in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”.
Asked directly by The Associated Press if ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ will be his last Star Wars film, Hamill replied:
“I sure hope so. I had closure in the last one. The fact that I’m involved in any capacity is only because of that peculiar aspect of the Star Wars mythology where if you’re a Jedi you get to come back and make a curtain call as a Force Ghost.”
One person who is a bit more upbeat about her role in the film is Keri Russell. “The Americans” actress spoke with the same outlet about what it was like when Abrams sent her his version of the script for the film: “When I read his script that he wrote I cried. I mean who knows what it will turn out to be and I hope it remains true to what he originally wanted.”
Russell plays a new character named Zorri Bliss whom she dubs a “bad ass” and who dons a helmet. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” opens in December.
