Finally, after years of preparation, the four sequels to “Avatar” are finally set to begin filming this year with My Entertainment World posting a listing saying that shooting on the motion capture is slated to begin on August 15th.
Fox and director James Cameron have yet to say anything official about a shooting date beyond things starting sometime later this year, now we have an idea when. The scripts for all four films are complete with the shoot set to cover all of the movies at the same time.
Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Sam Worthington are all coming back for the sequels ad Cameron said last month that all the designs are done and everything is pretty much ready to go.
Unlike with many films, pre-production on this was previously rumored to have been so extensive that post production will be a relatively streamlined process and won’t take as much time as you might think – which means the December 2018 release the first one is targeting could be met.
