The highly anticipated live-action film adaptation of Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” games has been moved up – by a week.
The Sony Pictures-distributed title, which was originally slated for March 26th 2027 and then pushed to May 7th 2027, will now open April 30th 2027 worldwide.
Nintendo’s own Shigeru Miyamoto announced the news, adding “The team is working hard to deliver the film to everyone as soon as possible.” Wes Ball directs the film, which will star Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Zelda and Link respectively.
That’s not the only date announcement today. David Ayer’s “Heart of the Beast” has been set for a September 25th 2026 release.
Brad Pitt leads the cast of the film that follows a former Army Special Forces Soldier and his retired combat dog who battle for survival after a plane crash deep in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.
J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe co-star in the survival tale, which Ayer directs from a script by Cameron Alexander. The film will open against the “Avengers: Endgame” re-release and “Forgotten Island”.
