AMC’s once unassailable zombie show juggernaut “The Walking Dead” has fallen – hard. This past Sunday’s episode hit an all-time low in the ratings – pulling in a 1.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 4.5 million viewers total.
That’s the least watched episode of the series since the second episode of the first season back in 2010 which scored 4.71 million viewers total. The series peaked at the start of its fifth season in 2014 with 17.3 million viewers for the season premiere. Even with the fall it remains the top scripted show on cable.
The bad news comes as the bad launch on PC in November last year of “Overkill’s The Walking Dead” game has led to publishers Starbreeze Studios and 505 Games cancelling their planned console releases of the title according to Reddit.
