Ultron, “Batman vs. Superman” Costume News

If a costumed superhero film requires location shooting, studios these days are now in the habit of releasing portrait photos of the actors in costume before a filming begins to avoid unflattering paparazzi photos being the “first look” that fans get.

As a result, Forbes reporter Mark Hughes claims that we could see the costumes from “Batman vs. Superman” – specifically Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman – before the end of next week. He recently tweeted:

“Okay, fans, get ready, a bat-suit & WW reveal seems to be imminent, as in possibly days away. Please do keep in mind, folks, I said this is based on the apparent originally planned reveal-date, before filming was delayed. That said, I do get a sense that the reveal will probably go forward as planned, roughly in the next 2 weeks. That’s my gut feeling.”

Speaking of superhero costumes, one that sounds like it will be very different from its comic counterpart is that of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Speaking about it recently, Olsen tells Total Film (via Superhero Movie News):

“I don’t think Joss (Whedon) ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those outfits. I am not a professional athlete and nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn’t be fun for anyone who wasn’t those things. He already had a different idea. It respects and involves the comic-book character but it’s different, more rooted. It’s for someone today. Well, if someone walked around wearing what she wore in the comics, people would stop and say, ‘What the hell… she thinks she’s a superhero!'”

The production has already gone to some measure to keep her costume under wraps for now, the actress confirming she uses a “secrecy cloak” that prevents anyone from seeing what she’s wearing.
