TV News: Sleepy, Westworld, Simpsons, Dead

Sleepy Hollow
Speaking at the TCA’s this week, the producers of FOX’s supernatural procedural hit “Sleepy Hollow” say they don’t plan to shake-up the successful formula anytime soon. For starters, the Abbie and Crane relationship won’t devolve into flirting/underlying sexual tension for a good while as yet.

Producer Len Wiseman says: “[Abbie and Ichabod] have a respect for each other. We’re really not playing their relationship on the romantic side”. The expanded second season will also boast new villains including the Pied Piper, a Succubus and a Wendigo. Timothy Busfield will guest star as Benjamin Franklin, while Sakina Jaffrey will play no-nonsense Sheriff Leena Reyes. [Source: The Live Feed]

Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden have all reportedly been offered roles in a potential cable series remake of sci-fi classic “Westworld”. The story is set in a futuristic, Western-themed amusement park. In this version the robot characters don’t actually realize they are robots.

Hopkins has been offered the role of Westworld proprietor Dr. Ford, while Wood and Marsden would be the story’s heroes – robots who are also love interests. [Source: Film Divider]

The Simpsons
The proposed crossover between Matt Groening’s animated series “The Simpsons” and “Futurama” is set to air in November according to producer Al Jean during a panel at the Television Critics Association on Sunday.

“Futurama” voice actors Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom and Tress MacNeille will all reprise their roles in the special “The Simpsons” episode. “Futurama” wrapped its run in September last year. [Source: The Wrap]

The Walking Dead
AMC has released a new banner for the upcoming fifth season of “The Walking Dead” just in time for this year’s Comic Con. The extra wide one-sheet depicts the characters in the situation we last saw them in – stuck together inside a train car.
