Teyonah Parris Joins Chris McQuarrie’s Next

Marvel

Teyonah Parris (“WandaVision,” “Matchbox: The Movie”) is set to star opposite Denzel Washington in a Christopher McQuarrie-directed untitled thriller at Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists.

The story centers on a former police detective serving a life sentence who is diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Granted compassionate release with six months to live, he returns home to the estranged daughter he left behind and a grandson he never knew existed.

He only wants to make amends and forget his dark past, but his dark past has not forgotten him. The project marks McQuarrie’s first non-“Mission: Impossible” directing credit in the past fifteen years (since “Jack Reacher” in 2012).

Scott Barkan and Gregg Zehentner pen the film which McQuarrie, Heather McQuarrie, Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, Joseph Restaino, Reza Moheet, Norman Aladjem, Katia Washington and Tommy Harper produce.

The feature will be released in theaters on October 1st 2027.
