If there was one surprise entertainment-related ad at this year’s Superbowl, it was Disney using one of their costly 30-second spots to advertise its three Disney+ Marvel series – all of which are still in production and won’t start arriving until August.
Nonetheless, the first footage from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “WandaVision” were on display, and even a brief shot of “Loki” is seen in the spot. The series are rumored to be the most expensive ever made for the small screen, costing up to $25 million an episode, and it shows with quality that looks on par with the Marvel films.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) team up to take on Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl). “WandaVision” has Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) finding herself stuck in a sitcom-esque lifestyle. “Loki” will see Tom Hiddleston’s villainous trickster engage in some time travel.
