Sony PlayStation has done its latest State of Play broadcast with a bunch of trailers for games on the way in 2020 along with a couple of announcements.
Along with “Resident Evil 3” set for April 3rd (see the previous article), the biggest date announcement was that “Predator: Hunting Grounds” will hit April 24th 2020 on both PS4 and PC (via Epic Game Store). The game is an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter pitting man against Predator – you are the four-person Fireteam who must complete missions before the Predator finds you. Alternatively you can be the Predator and hunt your prey.
There’s also a brief teaser for the highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive “Ghost of Tsushima” with this clip expected to be a tease of the game’s next trailer likely to arrive at the Game Awards this coming Thursday.
Square Enix and PlatnimumGames offered a new teaser trailer for the epic “Babylon’s Fall” which still remains fairly secret with more details set to arrive next year ahead of its PlayStation 4 and PC launch.
A closed beta announcement trailer was released for the PS4-exclusive fantasy battle royale title “Spellbreak” which allows for epic magic combat and powerful spellcasting. Players choose a class, weave spectacular spell combinations and fight to become an all-powerful battlemage.
For VR users, “Paper Beast” is dubbed a “dreamlike odyssey in a surreal wildlife simulation” as somewhere hidden in the vast memory of data servers, an ecosystem is born and you are the first explorer of this virgin land. The game hits in the first quarter of next year.
A year after “Kingdom Hearts 3” released, the expansion Re Mind arrives and brings back “Final Fantasy” characters Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith into the fray. The game hits January 23rd.
Media Molecule’s “Dreams,” which is effectively a game creation system albeit one with a full story campaign, dropped a trailer ahead of its PS4 release on February 14th.
For fans of “The Stanley Parable” comes “Superliminal,” a mind-bending first-person puzzle title with a sense of humor in which you wake up in a dream with the power to change things based on perspective. The game is out now on PC and hits PS4 in April.
Finally the highly popular “Untitled Goose Game” is finally making its way to consoles in which you play a goose let loose on an unsuspecting village who acts like a complete dick. The game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 17th.
